 Aug. 2003 After bidding farewell to IBM, George Wei took a risk in two aspects: devoting himself to a completely new industry - Advanced Manufacturing, and changing his role from a professional manager to an entrepreneur. He and another investor founded the company named Beijing Summary Technology Co., Ltd (BST for short) in the capital of China, selling rapid prototyping machines. Aug. 2004 RPWORLD, an absolutely independent sector, was established in the summer of 2004. As the key department of BST, RPWORLD has been providing RP services to global clients since then. Oct. 2006 After resigning from China local government, Simon Qiao joined RPWORLD. He was proficient in international trading and communication in spoken English. Dec. 2006 With lots of manufacturing experience in Siemens/Nokia, Steve Wei entered BST in Dec. 2006. A triangle Managing Hierarchy (George/Simon/Steve) has been formed since then, with Steve Wei in charge of the manufacturing team, Simon Qiao in charge of the sales team, and George Wei in charge of the marketing and R&D team. Apr. 2007 Summary Corporation was founded to be a holding company. As the core business, RPWORLD was affiliated with Summary Corporation. Dec. 2009 RPWORLD began to implement the strategy of core factories. The result was RP & RM factory was relocated to Beijing, close to the headquarters. RM & IM (Injection Molding) factory was still located in Guangdong, close to partners for outsourced and sub-contracted work. Life has more imagination than we carry in our dream.
